Software Design Engineer Test
Job Description
We have now officially entered the “live era” of software! Come join a group that is at the forefront of the Windows Live movement!!! The Member Platform Group's Identity Services division (also known as Passport), is looking for a bright, dedicated individual to join a very strong test team as an SDE/T.
Your primary responsibility will be to own one or more customer or partner-facing feature areas end to end; from contributing to design and threat modeling through identifying and investigating live-site issues. You will be required to develop test plans and test cases; plan, design and develop test tools and automation; test for security holes; perform code coverage and static code analysis; perform fault tolerance testing, memory leak detection and stress testing and last but not least – work with partners to make their integration into Windows Live as smooth as possible.
The LiveID/Passport code-base is largely native (Win32/C++/COM/ATL/ATL Server/IIS/SQL) while most of our test code is managed (mostly C#); an understanding of (and preferably prior experience with) these technologies is preferred. An understanding of basic cryptographic concepts (symmetric/SSL/PKI) and networking/web services (HTTP, TCP/UDP, and SOAP) is desirable. Strong customer focus and an ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively is a requirement.
The ideal candidate will have at least a B.A. /B.S. in Computer science followed by at least 5 years of development/testing experience and will ideally have worked on at least one complete ship cycle.
